They said the same thing after the 1989 earthquake as well.
It does not matter if we have an earthquake or not - it depends on the cycle and the stage.
As of now - Japan looks set to go up for some time - as I have said before - NKY would head to 10k-12k range and then fall back to 5k-6k.
So a 50% drop is definitely due but after the upward bounce is completed.
